March 15, 2017

Greetings,

I am a committee member for an exciting event that will help raise funds to support the significant role the Walker Scholarship Fund plays in the Rhode Island community.  And I would like to invite you to be a part of that effort.

On September 10, 2017, the 14th Annual Leonard E. Walker Memorial Golf Tournament will take place at the Laurel Lane Country Club in South Kingston, R.I.  The tournament provides the vehicle for us to raise funds for scholarships to help students from inner city high schools in Providence achieve their dreams of a college education.   Many of our Walker Scholars are first-generation college students in their family.

Over the past 13 years, this tournament has brought together sponsors, donors and old friends who knew and respected Leonard E. Walker, Sr. as a hard worker in the community, a servant of those less fortunate and a leader in the State of Rhode Island - to honor his memory and his legacy.  Last year we raised over $8,000 for scholarships, and have donated over $85,000 in assistance to high school graduates since we began this effort in 2002.

We are a 501c3 in the state of Rhode Island.  Our RI tax ID# is 47-1433766.

We are happy to accept corporate sponsorships, gifts, photographs, gift certificates, and other items to enhance our raffle and silent auction.  We have attached a donation option page to this letter.

Please send items to:   Debra Souza
                                    Highland Avenue
                                    Providence, RI 02908

Together we can help students achieve great things!

Sincerely,

Debra Souza
Committee Member
